Cookies and local storage

1. What does this site use?

This site uses no advertising cookies. For visitor analytics, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies only if you choose “Accept” in the banner at the bottom of the page: cookies named “_ga” and starting with “_ga_”, kept for up to 2 years. If you decline or make no choice, no analytics cookies are set. Your browser’s localStorage may hold: “secda-consent” for your cookie choice, “secda-language” for your language (tr, en or ar) and “secda-prayer-place” for the location you last chose on the prayer times page (country, city and district IDs). These entries are not sent to Secda.

localStorage is not a cookie and is not added to every network request automatically. The English and Arabic versions of the site have their own addresses (/en/ and /ar/); because the language is part of the address, it can appear in links you share and in the server’s access logs.

2. External services and server logs

The prayer times page sends requests directly to Ezan Vakti API. The site is served through Cloudflare, which may process technical connection data such as IP addresses for security and performance and may set strictly necessary security cookies when needed. When you open the App Store or other external links, that site’s policy applies.

3. Managing your preference

You can change the language from the top menu and your cookie choice from the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of the page. If you decline, existing “_ga” cookies in your browser are deleted. To remove everything, clear this site’s data in your browser; you don’t need to delete other sites’ data. The /en/ or /ar/ part of a shared link sets that page’s language.

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. The Google Analytics code only loads if you choose “Accept”; before you consent, or if you decline, no requests are sent to Google and no analytics cookies are set. If you accept, the pages you visit, approximate location (country and city), device and browser type and interactions are measured with “_ga” cookies. Google Consent Mode v2 is enabled, and advertising and ad personalisation permissions are always off. Google may process this data on servers outside Türkiye, including in the United States.

This page is not a consent screen in itself; continuing to use the site does not mean agreeing to analytics cookies. If new measurement or advertising tools are added, this page will be updated beforehand.
